The Yankees crushed Santana and take first game from Mets 9-1 behind a barrage of homers and superb pitching from Kuroda. Santana simply didn’t have it tonight as he pitched 5.0 innings, allowed 7 hits and 4 homers. It was 6-0 after the 3rd inning. Cano blasted 2 two-run homers, one came in the 2nd inning and the other in the front end of a back-to-back-to-back homer bashing with two outs in the 3rd. Swisher and Jones were the other participants in the assault. That’s all they really needed as Kuroda had another one of those sharp starts, pitching 7.0 innings, allowing ONLY one hit and striking out seven. He actually had a no-hitter going into the 6th. inning. The Yanks take game one of the June Subway 9-1. The the rest of the majors were also featuring inter league matches between American and National league rivals. Let’s go Yankees!
